CHINA

They took my Daddy far away. To a land he says is called, China. I don't know if China is on earth but I know it's not here in Johnstown. Daddy has been gone for 9 days now and we are all very sad to be without him. I miss his funny faces and the games we play when he gets home from work. Cody misses his wrestling matches and "chillin" with Daddy in his big chair while he watches some My Name is Earl. Spencer misses the long chats he and Daddy have about his plans to create a "solid water shield"...plans that Daddy tells him will never happen and Spencer continues to debate how someday, he will see it! He misses their "bonding" time in the morning when he and Daddy would head out the door and drive off to school/work. Mommy just misses everything about him. They are best friends.

We talk to Daddy on a webcam. There's a little camera on our end and one on his. Then we dial up his computer and we can talk back and forth. It's nice because then I can make faces at Daddy all over again. And he makes faces back. He can see how big Cody is getting and talk to Mommy.

On the first day Daddy was at work in China, one of the guys took him out to eat lunch. The first fish that was served looked like an ALIEN, Daddy said. The only place in the world it's found is China. It was scary to look at but pretty tasty to eat. The second fish that was served was long and looked just like a bowl of snakes. Daddy said that was also good but I don't think I could eat something that looks like a bowl of snakes. Mommy agrees!

Yesterday at work, my Daddy had another funny experience. Most of you know, my Daddy is 6'7" tall. He reaches clear up to the sky. He and another American guy were walking through a set of double doors and could hear a group of people arriving. When they walked through the doors, they were surprised to find a group of young school girls who looked up at them in fright! They were so startled! Then they started laughing and giggling and looking up at Daddy. He said it was cute and very funny to see their reaction to this giant man who looked nothing like them. And they were all so tiny!

Daddy is moving to a new hotel this weekend. It will be closer to a newer, busier area and there will be more things for him to see and learn. He is in an older, quieter part of town right now and he has walked around the same shops and restaurants over and over again. Last night, he found a restaurant that was finally right up his alley...they served beer and spicy chicken wings...his favorite!

We'll keep you posted of the happenings with Daddy. He'll be in China another 3 1/2 weeks. Here are a few pictures of the cool places he has seen so far. I don't know what they are but I like seeing where my Daddy is visiting. I miss him sooooooo much!
